Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has finalized plans to set up its first dedicated electric two-wheeler manufacturing plant in Narasapura, Karnataka, with an investment of approximately ₹600 crore. Positioned adjacent to HMSI’s largest existing plant in Narasapura, which currently produces over 2.4 million two-wheelers annually, this new facility marks a significant step in accelerating Honda’s electric mobility ambitions in India.rnrnThe plant will focus on producing electric scooters for both domestic consumption and export markets, supporting India’s growing EV ecosystem and the government’s push for sustainable transportation. Currently, HMSI retails two electric models, the Activa e: with a swappable battery system and the QC1 with a fixed battery pack offering an 80 km range; both models are assembled at the Narasapura facility.
